The City Streets Department was able to pick up leaves for an extended season this year due to very little fall snowfall. Leaf collection for 2018 is now complete, so equipment can be transitioned for winter duties. The community did a great job raking! If you were unable to rake your leaves to the curb, you can still bag your leaves and place them in the alley for collection or you can haul them to the County Landfill.
In the spring, leaves from years past will be ready for free pick up and use by the public in their fields and gardens. Leaf pick up and street sweeping also improves air quality and improves storm water quality that enters the waterways from city storm drains.
