During the annual L
aw Enforcement Torch Run held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, officers from the Kalispell Police Department, Montana Highway Patrol, and the US Border Patrol carried the torch through Kalispell with many local Special Olympic Athletes. This law enforcement driven event is held internationally and is designed to raise awareness and funds for those with intellectual and physical disabilities.
Officers were also in attendance for the Regional Games held at Legends F
ield on Friday, April 27. Law Enforcement personnel from the Kalispell Police Department and US Border Patrol were on hand to encourage the athletes and present them with their hard earned and well-deserved medals.
These events are one example of how officers enjoy interacting with their communities while upholding our core values of protecting and serving. It is certainly a pleasure to interact with the athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers who support Special Olympics.
A special thanks to Greg Harris, owner and operator of Grizzly Security Armored Express, and Calvin Beringer, a retired Law Enforcement Officer, for their continued support of Special Olympics MT and the law enforcement community.
