[ARCHIVED] Private Tree Branches Will Not Be Collected by the City of Kalispell

Image of pile of branches in the street with a no symbol overlaid

The City of Kalispell is asking residents NOT to pile brush or branches from private trees in the boulevards or streets.  In alleys only small branch bundles (4 feet long by 1.5 feet in diameter) will be collected. Residents are responsible for disposal of private trees, tree branches, and shrubs. Information about the Flathead County Landfill where branches and other yard debris can be taken is available at: https://flathead.mt.gov/department-directory/waste.

Completion of fall leaf collection and winter snowplowing operations cannot occur if branches are continually being added to the streets. Street crews WILL NOT be responsible for branches plowed back onto the boulevards while performing winter plowing operations. Thank you for your cooperation as we prepare for winter weather and snow events.

For questions regarding BOULEVARD trees or trees on city property, please contact the City of Kalispell Forestry Division at (406) 758-7716.
