The Kalispell Police Department would like to acknowledge Officer Carlee Brown and caring community members for seeing a person in need and going above and beyond. Recently Officer Brown handled a citizen assist/welfare check. The reporting party advised that her teenage son had met a 16 year old at the skate park who said he was staying with his mom in temporary housing and had not seen her or eaten in two days. They brought him home to feed him and called KPD for help to try and find a place for the teen to stay. Officer Brown brought him to KPD and contacted CPS (Child Protective Services) so they could try and locate a family member, or a place for him to stay. While waiting for CPS to arrive, Officer Brown bought the teen some food with her own money. CPS arrived later in the evening and assisted the juvenile. It's examples like this that show Officer Brown’s compassion for all individuals she contacts and the care this community can show for each other.
