[ARCHIVED] Fall Leaf Collection Details

Fall Leaf Removal

The window of opportunity for leaf collection is relatively narrow from the time leaves fall to when snow arrives. In an effort to provide more effective and efficient leaf collection services the Public Works Department is instituting the leaf collection period for 2021 to be from October 11th through November 12th

City of Kalispell residents and business owners are encouraged to rake the leaves from the boulevard onto the street approximately two feet away from the curb.  Residents should have leaves ready and to the curb by the start of the program to not miss collection. Unfortunately, there is no set timeline for when crews will reach certain areas. Unpredictable leaf volumes and weather conditions make it unreasonable to know when areas will receive collection, however, crews make every effort to remove leaves as quickly as possible.

Leaves will not be picked up outside of the Leaf Collection Season October 11th-November 12th and these dates are subject to change due to weather conditions. As a reminder, Public Works does not perform curbside/streetside leaf collection in spring. Please contact Public Works for guidance on proper leaf disposal after the Leaf Collection Season or visit us on our website

Bagged leaves should be placed in the alley behind your residence and will be removed with alley cleanup.

Please do not put rocks, dirt, cans, bottles, branches and items of this nature in the leaf piles because they may cause bodily injury and damage to machinery.
