IEDC Logo with City of Kalispell Logo and Award Category

The City of Kalispell was recently recognized by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) during the 2020 Excellence in Economic Development Awards. The City received the Gold Winner recognition for the Real Estate Redevelopment and Reuse category and the Flathead County Economic Development Authority was the Silver Winner for the Multi-Year Economic Development Program for the Glacier Rail Park/Kalispell Core Area Development and Trail Project.

Phase 1 of the project is to transform downtown Kalispell while expanding rail access to Flathead Valley businesses. Phase 2 of the project will replace 1.6 miles of rail in downtown Kalispell with a multi-use trail and new complete street connection. The Trail will connect business districts, grocery stores, schools, child care, healthcare, workforce training and employment assistance while improving redevelopment in the heart of the community.

Congratulations to all of the partners involved in this important project.
