K9seminarforweb

The Kalispell Police Department and the Montana Law Enforcement Canine Association (MLECA) hosted HITS K9 for a 3 day police canine training seminar in Kalispell, October 26th -28th. HITS K9 is a professional training organization known worldwide for its expertise in instructing police canine handlers in the legal and practical field applications of police K9's.

This seminar consisted of classroom instruction and practical hands on scenarios. Approximately 30 canine teams from law enforcement agencies in WA, ID, and across MT descended on Kalispell for this 3 day event. K9 instructors traveled from Florida, Massachusetts, and Colorado to share their knowledge, experiences, and expertise. We thank all the teams and instructors for traveling to our beautiful city, despite the unseasonably cold temperatures, snow, and ice. One instructor from Florida had few words for the Kalispell weather "Its beautiful, but I don't do snow"

A special thanks to our community partners for their generosity and support. Without their assistance, this event would not have been possible. Spring Hill Suites, Starbucks, Murdoch's, Dee-O-Gee, Firehouse Subs, Holiday Inn Express, Mackenzie River Pub and Grill, Brass Tap, Flathead County Fairgrounds, Bolsters Towing, Green Towing, Brush Towing, Kalispell Parks and Recreation, Kalispell Public Works, and Shirt Shack. Thank you to our premier sponsor and steadfast supporter, Greg Harris of Grizzly Security and Armored Express for his generous donation.
