[ARCHIVED] Public Comment Welcomed During Online Council Meeting

onlinepubliccomment

The City is pleased to announce that we now have the capability to accept public comment during the online council meetings that are currently taking place. Members of the public can now pre-register to attend the online meeting and provide comments at the appropriate times within the meeting.

To register to speak on an item under the jurisdiction of the Kalispell City Council, citizens can now follow the link provided with the upcoming meeting agenda to pre-register. The link will take them to the zoom application where they are asked to enter a first and last name and provide an email. They would then receive an auto generated email from Zoom that includes a link to join the meeting and phone numbers that can be used to call in to the meeting if a computer, tablet, or smart phone is not preferred. A meeting ID and passcode is also included in this email that will need to be entered once the meeting link is clicked.

The night of the meeting, pre-registered attendees can log in to the meeting beginning ten minutes prior to the start time. Attendees will enter the meeting automatically muted. The Mayor will call for public comment after the presentation of each action item, and during the general public comment item on the agenda. Attendees can indicate they would like to speak on a particular item by using the raise hand feature in the zoom application. The raise hand feature can be found within the Participant icon next to the person’s listed name. For phone-in public comment, press *9 to raise your hand and *6 to mute or unmute your phone.

If you have any questions about this process or need help registering, please reach out to City Clerk Aimee Brunckhorst at (406) 758-7756, or via email to cityclerk@kalispell.com

As usual, written public comment is always welcomed via email to publiccomment@kalispell.com. If you would like to watch the proceedings of the City Council, you can watch live on Cable Channel 190 or stream the meeting live or later at https://www.kalispell.com/480/Meeting-Videos. There you will find the upcoming agenda and materials with the meeting pre-registration link found at the top of the agenda. You can also find these materials at https://www.kalispell.com/agendacenter.

If you need assistance in using the software please go to the following link for helpful tips: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-Meeting. Please be patient as we may experience technical difficulties while adapting to this new system.
