[ARCHIVED] City Transitioning Away From Walk-In Services During COVID-19 Health Outbreak

Lobbies closed

The City of Kalispell is committed to providing essential services to the public while also making it a top priority to protect the health and safety of our citizens. The City of Kalispell continues to follow the direction of the Flathead City-County Health Department, and the State of Montana in relation to the COVID-19 health outbreak.

In light of the recommendation from the City-County Health Department to implement service delivery measures to transition away from walk-in and face-to-face services, the City of Kalispell will be limiting public access to City Hall at 201 First Avenue East, beginning Thursday, March 19, 2020 until further notice. Only essential meetings will be conducted at City Hall, with most meetings using conference call or other online meeting services. More information can be found at www.Kalispell.com.

Utility payments will be accepted and processed via mail, drop box, phone (406) 758-7745, and online at www.Kalispell.com. Additionally, the City Water Department will not be entering homes to service water meters, unless there is an emergency. Customers that are impacted will be sent a letter explaining the situation, how the estimation process works, and that they will be contacted as soon as we resume normal service operations.

The Parks and Recreation office at 306 First Avenue East will also be limiting public access. Recreation activities can be registered using online forms at www.Kalispell.com or by phone at (406) 758-7718.

Building, Planning, and Community Development can be reached at (406) 758-7940.

Public Works can be reached at (406) 758-7720.

We also encourage the public to process payments for Municipal Court through mail, drop box, phone (406) 758-7706, and online.

It is important to highlight that city services remain fully staffed and operational during this time, including field activities and inspections performed by Parks and Recreation, Public Works, and the Building Department. It is important, however, to modify the manner of service delivery, if necessary, to protect the health and safety of staff and the community. Any city employees may be contacted through the phone numbers listed on the website by department or via email.

The City of Kalispell would like to ensure the public that the organization will continue working with partners such as the Flathead City-County Health Department to mitigate the effects stemming from COVID-19. We urge all citizens to closely monitor the website of the Flathead City-County Health Department for emerging recommendations and information and to follow guidelines from the health experts for the health and safety of the community.
