[ARCHIVED] Kalispell Detective Ottosen Recognized by US Postal Service

Stan Ottosen Receiving Appreciation, 2019

Detective Stan Ottosen was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation along with a commendation letter from the United States Postal Inspection Service thanking him for his outstanding work on a federal case. According to Anthony Galeth, Inspector for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Detective Ottosen put together a well drafted case involving six defendants who played roles in the theft of mail, altering of stolen checks, and the negotiation of stolen/altered and fraudulent checks addressed to area businesses and banks. The letter sent to Chief Overman explains that due to Ottosen's intimate knowledge of the case and the case file he had put together, the U.S. Attorney's Office accepted the case for federal prosecution. Ottosen was involved in every step from presentation through sentencing. Inspector Galeth said, "Detective Ottosen's can-do attitude, dedication, professionalism, and willingness to assist was and is invaluable to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service as well as to the community in which he serves."
