[ARCHIVED] Woodland Ave. & 2nd St. E/Conrad Drive Intersection Open House

Cars in the intersection at Woodland Dr. & Conrad Drive

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) in coordination with the City of Kalispell would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to improve the Woodland Avenue and 2nd Street East/Conrad intersection. The project is generally located at the southwest corner of Woodland Park.

Project team members will be hosting an open house at City Hall, in the Council Chambers, 201 First Avenue East, Kalispell on October 28, 2019 between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to discuss the design of the project. THE LOCATION WAS CHANGED FROM THE LIBRARY TO THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS AS OF OCT. 18TH.

An early feasibility study has identified a mini-roundabout as the most appropriate intersection control and the project will be entering the design phase once the full feasibility study has completed. The purpose of the project is to reduce the frequency and severity of crashes, accommodate pedestrian and bicycle traffic, mitigate the steep grade on the east leg of the intersection, and to the extent possible, fit the improvements within the existing intersection and right-of-way footprint.

The public is encouraged to attend the project information event. MDT attempts to provide accommodations for any known disability that may interfere with a person’s participation in any department service, program, or activity. For reasonable accommodations to participate in this meeting, please contact Lori Ryan at (406) 444-6821 at least two days prior to the meeting.

For more information, please contact Missoula District Administrator Bob Vosen at (406) 523-5802 or Project Design Engineer Jacquelyn Smith at (406) 444‑7694. Members of the public may submit written comments to the Montana Department of Transportation Missoula office at PO Box 7039, Missoula, MT  59807-7039, or online at: www.mdt.mt.gov/mdt/comment_form.shtml

Please note that your comments are for project UPN 9372000.
