SP Area Spring Games 2019On Friday, April 26, the Special Olympics Area Spring Games were held at Legends Field, Flathead Health and Fitness, Buffalo Hill Golf Course, and the Wave in Whitefish. Approximately 275 amazing Special Olympics Athletes from 14 different teams across NW Montana competed in track and field events, powerlifting, golf, cycling, bocce, and swimming, in preparation for next months State Summer Games in Great Falls. Law Enforcement (active and retired) from Kalispell Police Department, Whitefish Police Department, MT Probation and Parole, MT Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, and Lake County Sheriff's Office were on hand to present medals, support, and encouragement to the athletes, their families, coaches, and volunteers. It is truly humbling and motivating to witness the positive attitudes, determination, and competitive spirit displayed by the athletes.

As always, the Kalispell Police Department takes pride in partnering with local, state, and federal law enforcement organizations to serve our community. Thanks to our partners in law enforcement, we are able to support the mission of the Kalispell Police Department and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, by fostering positive relationships with our communities and spreading the message of acceptance and inclusion for all.
