[ARCHIVED] Parce and Cairo Training Video

Cairo training 2019

In this video, you can see Kalispell Police Department K9 Cairo is extremely driven and focused on his task of finding drugs during training, despite having his favorite toys placed as distractions. Cairo is a Belgain Malinois and is extremely intelligent, athletic, agile, durable and most importantly extremely driven to perform a trained task. These characteristics make the Malinois an exceptional breed for police and military work, and why Malinois are the preferred breed of elite military and police organizations worldwide. Cairo's natural skills and abilities, coupled with consistent and proper training, allow Cairo to perform seemingly impossible tasks...and all for a simple rubber toy and affection from his handler.  Officer Parce and Cairo train a minimum of four hours per week on narcotics detection, with an additional 4-6 hours of obedience, and evidence search training every week.  Officer Jason Parce said he enjoys seeing how Cairo has bonded with him over the last two years since they began working as a team. Once Cairo gets his reward ( a gnarled piece of rubber hose) for properly locating the drugs, he runs right to Jason for additional praise. Two years ago he would've run out the door and around the building, content to play by himself.
