The City of Kalispell will be holding an open house on Monday, January 14, 2019, at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 201 First Avenue East.  The open house will provide an opportunity for members of the community to meet the finalists for the vacant Chief of Police position. Of the 58 applications submitted by the deadline in mid-November, 2 finalists will be interviewed for the position that was vacated by former Chief, Roger Nasset in early 2018.  The finalists for the position are John Bruce, Chief of Police in Frisco, TX, and Doug Overman, Captain of the Kalispell Police Department.  “We are excited to have these two candidates participating in the final interview stage in January, and are encouraged by their respective experience, competencies, and abilities,” reports Doug Russell, Kalispell City Manager.  “As this is an important position for the Kalispell community, we look forward to filling it with an individual committed to the department’s long-term success.”  It is anticipated that a selection will be made during the week of the 14th.
