Kalispell city crews remove leaves from city streets during the fall. The season runs October 1st to November 30th. Dates may vary due to weather. Leaves shall not be raked into the street outside of the leaf pick-up period. Residents and business owners are encouraged to rake the leaves from the boulevards onto the street approximately two feet away from the curb. This is important to allow the leaf machines to operate efficiently. Vehicles must be removed from curbside during leaf pickup operations.
Leaf removal on Avenues occurs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Streets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Once completed on removal days, crews will move to the next area. Pickup times for outlying residential areas vary and are designated by the areas with the highest volume of leaves.
This schedule is contingent on weather conditions, workload, and equipment availability. City Street personnel will make every effort to remove leaves as quickly as possible.
Do not put rocks, dirt, cans, bottles, branches, and items of this nature in the leaf piles. This can cause bodily injury to personnel or bystanders and damage machinery.
Leaves will not be picked up outside of the Leaf Removal Season. Contact Public Works for proper leaf disposal after the Leaf Removal Season.
