*ERU = Equivalent Residential Unit for single family residential connection. For service other than single family residential, please contact the Public Works Department for the current fee.

Wastewater Impact Fees must be paid in full at the Building Department— 411 1st Avenue West —prior to sewer main connection. Fees for connection are determined by the Public Works Staff in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Kalispell Sewer Department as adopted by the City Council Resolution. Copies of the Rules and Regulations are available at the Water Billing or Public Works Office.

Sewer Main Connection/Service Line Installation

Requirements: Excavation Permit ($10 Fee) - Inspection prior to backfill.

The sewer main connection and service line installation is the property owner's responsibility. Installation must be completed by a bonded and insured contractor. Contractor requirements are available at the Public Works Office. Call the Public Works Department at 758-7720 for inspection prior to backfill, providing 24 hr. minimum notice. Payment for connection and service line installation are the responsibility of the Property Owner. It is the responsibility of the property owner to maintain the service line from the sewer main connection to the structure including the sewer main tap.

Out-of-City Sewer Utility Service

A signed Petition for Annexation form and a signed Waiver of the Right to Protest Annexation form must be submitted to the Public Works Office prior to sewer utility service connection. Petitions to Annex are available from the Kalispell Planning Office located at 201 1st Avenue East, Kalispell. All service outside the city is subject to approval by the City Council.

Application for Sewer Service and Water Meter

Customers who are not connected to the City's water distribution system, but discharge sewage into the City's sewer collection and wastewater treatment system must have their water service metered. The meter reading is the basis for sewer service charges. If the property is served by both City water and City sewer, only an Application for Water Service and Water Meter Delivery is necessary. It is the responsibility of the property owner to contract water meter installation. The property owner is responsible for all costs associated with water metering, including the cost of the meter. Public Works Water Division Personnel shall have access to the water meter for reading purposes. All sewer accounts are billed bi-monthly.

Charge: $3.75 administrative cost per meter

$4.19 per thousand gallons/no minimum
