Residential properties located within the City of Kalispell service area are provided garbage disposal service. 300 and 400 gallon containers are provided in the alleys for customers located in the service area of an alley. The service area of an alley is defined as those areas of the City where there is an alley in a block or an alley that borders a City block. 100 gallon containers are provided for individual properties requiring curbside service.

Requests for garbage service are to be directed to the Public Works Office. The cost for services is assessed annually for one time per week pickup.

If your neighborhood was recently developed, the City may not yet be providing garbage service.  In accordance with State law, the City cannot provide garbage service to areas that have been annexed with the past 5 years.  After the expiration of five years, the City may provide garbage service to the neighborhood, if a majority of the residents of the incorporated area sign a petition requesting the City to provide the service.  The current cost of this service is $90.00 per year and is included in your property tax assessments.  Contact the Public Works Department for more information: 406-758-7720.
