Message from the Chief
Welcome to the Kalispell Police Department’s web-site.
Nestled in the middle of the Flathead Valley, Kalispell is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world!
It has been my distinct pleasure to serve the citizens and visitors to Kalispell as a police officer since 1994 and as Chief since 2007. The Kalispell Police Department is comprised of 35 sworn police officers, seven support staff and multiple volunteers. As a department we take great pride in solving problems and being proactive rather than reactive! As Chief, I am very proud of the dedicated team of law enforcement professionals we have assembled to accomplish our Value Statement “We are dedicated to professional excellence through the shared values of honesty, integrity, professional competence, compassion, positive leadership, and respect for the public, to whom we are ultimately accountable”.
Even though we are a relatively small department in staff, we provide a full range of professional police services including; vehicle patrol, bicycle patrol, motorcycle patrol, SRT, crisis negotiators, major crime unit, school resource officers, detectives, drug taskforce member, crime analysis, child forensic interviewers, reserve police officers and multiple ancillary services provided through community partnerships.
Our Mission and Purpose is to ensure the highest level of public safety while protecting the rights and dignity of those we serve. We endeavor to continually strengthen our relationship with the community as is expressed through our motto “policing through partnerships”.
