It is a pleasure and an honor to be the Kalispell City Manager. I last served as City Manager in Vermillion, South Dakota. I am a graduate of Wheaton College and the University of Southern California. I have more than ten years of City Management experience and I have been recognized as a Credentialed Manager by the International City and County Managers Association.
I and my family have been overwhelmed and appreciate the warm welcome the City has given to us. I have had the
opportunity to meet many of the community leaders and look forward to meeting many more in the coming months
and years. Kalispell is in a beautiful location with a great quality of life, but more than that, the citizens
that live here make Kalispell a special place to visit as well as a place to live. Whether you are a resident,
a visitor to the area or someone wishing to locate in this area, you will find great recreational activities
year round. Kalispell's location to Flathead Lake, Big Mountain Ski Resort, Black Tail Ski Resort, and
Glacier National Parkas well as the City's own parks and recreation offering provide year round outdoor
activities and adventures. The City's business center provides unique shopping experiences and offers a wide variety of goods and services. The Downtown Businesses, in partnership with the City, are in the process of developing a Downtown Vision Plan to enhance the appearance as well as attracting new businesses and services to the downtown district.
I have been impressed with the City Staff's level of knowledge and dedication to the City. They are experienced
in their areas of expertise and responsive to the changing needs of this dynamic and growing community.
They are augmented by exceptional volunteers who assist on City Boards and Commissions, and elsewhere in
the City. Their mission is "To provide the services, resources, and competitive environment that enhance
the quality of life for all citizens." Our goal is to accomplish this daily by each City government
representative taking individual responsibility, treating every individual with dignity fairness and compassion,
and with honesty. City Staff strives for personal and organizational growth and development.
