Welcome to the Kalispell Fire Department web site! I hope that it helps you learn about our very dynamic department, and I encourage you to forward any
questions that you may have to us at: Kalispell Fire Department.
In addition to serving the City of Kalispell, the department provides advanced life support ambulance response to the surrounding unincorporated areas. The city population served is over 20,000, and ambulance response is provided to over 65,000. Kalispell Fire Department is an all career department staffed with 39 personnel. As part of our commitment to providing the highest level of emergency medical response available, all operations personnel are also trained paramedics. Responding to over 4,500 calls per year, our personnel are some of the busiest in the state. Firefighters average over 500 hours each of training, as well as serving on specialized teams such as the NW Montana Regional Hazardous Materials Team, Kalispell Police SWAT Medics, and Bike Medics. Kalispell is one of the fastest growing communities in the Rockies with a very diverse economic base, ranging from tourism to light industry. Because our community is growing so rapidly, so is our department. A majority of our firefighters have been here for less than three years, making us a very young department with lots of opportunity for growth. With six additional fully staffed fire stations on the horizon, I spend a great deal of my day planning the future! In 2006, the Kalispell Fire Department was classified by the Insurance Services Offices (ISO), as a Class 3, joining the top 5 % of fire departments in the nation. This not only means that the department provides excellent service, but it also means that insurance rates are low for property and business owners!
Hopefully, you will never need our emergency services, but if you do, we promise to respond to your call for help with a fast, well-trained and courteous team of professionals! Randy Brodehl |
