Public outreach is a vital component of Kalispell's Brownfield Program. To educate the community about the program and to increase public involvement, the City will hold a series of public meetings throughout the project duration. The first public meeting was held on August 4, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of City Hall located at 201 First Avenue East. The meeting discussed progress made toward identifying sites for assessment, updating the community on sites likely to be assessed, and generally educating the community about the brownfields program and the benefits of participating in it. Throughout the project, public meetings will be held as information concerning the presence or absence of contamination on the sites assessed is obtained. Future meeting dates and times will be posted here as they are scheduled.
